I am a graduate student at Stony Brook University's Applied Math and Statistics Department. My advisor is Xiaolin Li. I study front tracking and adaptive mesh refinement and its application to computational fluid dynamics.
Interests, Hobbies and Reading:
My professional areas of interest are parallel computing, numerical analysis, data visualization, and scientific programing. In my off time I like browsing slashdot, physorg, ars technica, and darkroastblend. In the past I had more time for other hobbies such as astronomy, electronics, stamp collecting and ham radio, although the thesis is all consuming recently. I can always find some time for linux fanaticism and I frequently attend LILUG and LUGSB. Things I like to do to decompress include shooting pool, swimming, running, wood working, and I would like to spend more time working on my car.
